Hello hunters and friends, its been awhile since my last writing and many things have happened since. The HH points race is getting exciting as a couple of competitors are nearing the 100 point mark! Ed Holland's FC Run N Gun Cash and Randy Jensen's Nikki are at 91 HH points with Mike Wallace's Charlie at 85! At Randy Polley's Bear Lake shootout we had another Champion crowned, Dan Park with AC Sophie. This past Sunday we had another successful BHU Youth Day at Nelson Ridge. Sponsoring the event was Ravenwood Christian Church, Nelson Ridge, National Guard, and Bill Foster Contractor and Builder.
For the clay shooting Bill Foster, Damien Auffert and myself helped the kids work on bettering their shooting, and for one, Braxton Yount, it was his first time shooting the shotgun. Dalton Auffert took the first place, with Thomas Coalson in second, Treston McGeorge in third, Talina Nelson in fourth, Trenton McGeorge in fifth, Brandon Savage in sixth, Dakota Auffert, Gage Savage and Brandon Bennet, tied for seventh. The kids had a great time.
In the .22 target shooting Bruce Nelson and Aaron Dack helped the kids work on their shooting both standing and sitting. Brandon Savage won 1st with 3 bulls eye's! Treston won 2nd, Talina won 3rd, Trenton won 4th, Braxton Yount won 5th, Dakota won 6th, Gage Savage won 7th, Dalton Auffert won 8th, Thomas Coalson won 9th, McKenzie Finney won 10th, Trevin Melton won 11th and Brandon Bennet won 12th.
Once we had the top three in the two stations, Bill Foster of Bill Foster Contracting and Building, sponsored six rooster pheasants for the kids to hunt. It was quite a rush for the kids and all spectating to watch the elegant bird flush from their feet and get a chance to harvest them using their clay shooting skills.
