Fredericka Wagner of Flying W Farms created the foundation stock of the American Mastiff, infusing Anatolian Mastiffs into the English lines. The result was a dog with a very similar standard to the English Mastiff but with one major difference. The American Mastiff is dry mouth.
What does that mean? They do drool, when excited and around food, but no more that most other breeds...a major plus in the live with quotient with these beautiful giants.
