Appearance: Head: Medium size, with a domed skull. Eyes: Almond shaped, medium size, and dark in color. Ears: Small, erect, and pointed. Muzzle: Medium and tapering to a point. Nose: Black and self-colored according to coat. Bite: Scissor or level. Neck: Medium length and muscular. Chest: Deep and oval in shape. Body: Back is short, straight and strong. Legs: Forelegs are straight and strong, with hind legs powerful and hocks bent slightly. Feet: Round with arched toes. Tail: Plumed, curling to one side. Movement: Swift and very agile, with flowing gait. Temperament: High-spirited, yet very lovable. *The Finnish Spitz is the national dog in Finland and despite his small size was used for tracking bear and elk. Today he is used primarily for bird hunting. |
